F.A.Q.'s

What is your website address? TOP

You can access our website in two (2) ways, either via www.callamae.net or www.callamae.com.  Both website addresses will direct you to our beautiful store!

What quality materials do you use in your designs? TOP

At CallaMae we only use the finest quality materials in our designs.  The materials used to design and craft each bracelet is included in the description that accompanies each bracelet pictured.  In addition, we only use jeweler's grade wire (49 strand) for added strength and durabilty, and the highest quality stretch cord, for maximum support and comfort in our stretch bracelet designs.

How do I know what size bracelet to order? TOP

Great question!  Please refer to our INFORMATION PAGE for a complete size chart.  If you are still unsure, measure the wrist where you'd wear a watch and add 1/2".

We measure all of our bracelets end-to-end.  If there is a clasp, the clasp is included in the measurement.

Many of the CallaMae bracelets come standard with a 1/2" Sterling Silver Extender chain, which allow these bracelets to fit a range of sizes. To find out which bracelets come with this feature, please review the product details of each bracelet carefully.

I like the look of Toggle Clasps, may I request a Toggle Clasp instead of a Lobster Clasp? TOP

We do not work with toggle clasps, because the are very unsecure. We've had a number of new clients contact us to restring their bracelets with lobster clasps, because the original designer strung their bracelets with toggle clasps and they kept opening and falling off.  We consider our bracelets an investment and a very personal work of art.  As such, we will not take a chance on having one lost because of a faulty "pretty" clasp. That is why we only work with lobster clasps, as they are entirely predictable and we know that the bracelets we craft with them will not come undone unless you physically undo them!

How long after I place my order until my item(s) is created? TOP

We start working on your order once we have confirmation of your payment.  You can expect your order to ship usually within 72 hours.  **This time may increase around the Holidays, Valentine's Day & Mother's Day, please plan accordingly.**

Will I be notified if materials are out of stock or on backorder? TOP

Yes, you will be notified immediately if in the unlikely event we are temporarily out of a component needed to complete your order.  We will place your bracelet on backorder and it will be created immediately upon receipt of the component needed.  Or, you can opt to cancel your order.

If I order the wrong size, do you charge to resize it? TOP

Yes, we charge $12.50 to resize a bracelet that is ordered in the wrong size.  This fee includes resizing the bracelet and the shipping charge for returning the bracelet to you.

How should I care for my sterling silver bracelet? TOP

Sterling Silver is an alloy that is at least 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent another metal, usually copper.  Sterling silver does tarnish, so proper care is very important.  With proper care, your bracelet can last a lifetime!  You should never wear sterling silver in the swimming pool, the chlorine and other chemicals will hasten the tarnishing.  Also, the minerals in lakes, the ocean and even your shower can cause sterling silver to tarnish.  And, sometimes even skin oils can tarnish sterling silver.

To gently clean your bracelet, use an all-cotton polishing cloth.  You can find them HERE. There is no need to use a silver cleaner on your bracelet.  You can also use a mixture of baking soda and warm water to remove any tarnish from the sterling silver.  However, use this method gently and only on the sterling silver.  Do not use it on anything other than the sterling silver, as the other materials (crystals, glass & cat’s eye) will scratch.  Never use any kind of bristles to remove tarnish from your bracelet, as they could cause scratching, as well.

We offer the perfect polishing cloth to keep your bracelet sparkling like new!  You may want to purchase one with your bracelet.  You'll find them HERE

How should I store my sterling silver bracelet? TOP

It's best to store any bracelet containing sterling silver in an air-tight container.  This will decrease the rate of tarnishing.  Keep your bracelet in its organza bag and away from other metals.  Some have found that a small stick of chalkboard chalk next to your sterling silver pieces will help absorb impurities in the air and keep your sterling silver tarnish-free for longer periods of time.

Do your products contain lead? TOP

There is always an element of lead in all base metal products.  Swarovski crystals are leaded-crystal components. There is no lead in our lead-free pewter. We are located in the State of California which has very strict lead standard guidelines. To the best of our knowledge, all of the products we use in our bracelet designs conform with the lead standards of the State of California. For obvious safety reasons, it is always advised that you do not allow yourself, children or pets to place jewelry items in your mouth (they do not belong there! lead exposure and choking.)

Do you handle repairs on bracelets made by other designers? And, if so, how much do you charge per hour? TOP

Yes, we will gladly accommodate your repair requests!  If you have a bracelet in need of repair, please send us an email through our CONTACT US page with the details of your repair request.  Based on your description of the repair work needed, we will provide you with a free estimate of the total cost to restore your bracelet to wearability.  This estimate will include our labor costs and any replacement parts needed.  We currently charge $20.00 per hour for labor, plus the cost of any replacement parts needed.  Most repairs take anywhere from 45 minutes to one-hour to complete.
